SINTERCAFE- International Coffee Week -is an annual event known worldwide which involves both producers and consumers. Each November Costa Rica once again becomes the meeting place for key decision makers from the most important coffee companies in the world.

This year SourceTrace participate in SINTERCAFE 28th Edition to have the opportunity to exchange information, to share our experiences, and to interact with the worlds Coffee Community in order to strengthen coffee commerce.
- In Costa Rica on the slopes of the Poas Volcano, Starbucks is adapting a 240-hectare coffee farm into a global agronomy center.
- Called Hacienda Alsacia, this farming research and development center is working to help coffee farming communities around the world mitigate climate change impact and support long-term crop stability.
- By working to develop coffee varietals and research soil resiliency, this farm will make great strides for future coffee harvests worldwide.
- Starbucks purchased the farm last year as part of an ongoing billion-dollar commitment to ethically sourcing 100 percent of its coffee by 2015.
- The work happening on this farm will enable the company to expand its Coffee and Farming Equity Practices (C.A.F.E. Practices), farmer support centers and farmer loan projects as well as gain a better understanding of the coffee cost of production.
- All of these integrated programs directly support improving farmer livelihoods and a long-term supply of high-quality coffee for the industry.
